Evaluation: Advert Feedback

What are the strengths of your radio advert?

I was able to do a lot of things myself: Do my own voice over, Edit myself & find my own sound effects and soundtrack. I also faded parts of the voice overs and the music when the voice-overs where finished.
The music picked for my radio advert gave listeners a clue about the genre and it also suited it. I’ve been given feedback about my voice over. My classmates said the tone of my voice suited a radio advert voice over.

What are the weaknesses of your radio advert?

There are quite a lot of weaknesses in my radio advert: It lacks originality, the radio advert was short and, the gaps in-between the voices were too long. Other than that; I was quite pleased with the outcome.

How could your radio advert be improved?

I could’ve spent more time on it to improve it and make it sound better. I also could’ve made my radio advert sound more original instead of using a template to help me create one. The gaps in-between the voices in my radio advert could’ve been shortened to sound more professional. I believe that if my radio advert was longer it could’ve been better.

Evaluation: Original Intentions

What was the original idea for the radio advert explained in your power-point presentation

For my original idea, I was thinking of adding on a male voice over with R&B music in the background to make it clear that this is a love film. There will be dialogue of the two main characters and their parents telling them off about loving one another because they're from different races. I wanted to add dramatic sound effects to my radio advert to add mood.

Did you make any changes to your original idea

Yes I made few changes to my original idea because I found out new things that would improve it.

What changes did you make?

I didn't add any dramatic sound effects which would've added mood and suspense. I felt that I didn't need any of that because I wanted to make my radio advert simple but effective. I didn't make many changes because i felt that I didn't need much.

Why did you make these changes?

I made these changes because I felt that adding dramatic effects wasn't going to make my film any better and it would've changed people's perspective of my film idea. I wanted my radio advert to sound like the genre so that is why I made the changes in my original intentions.

1.  What have I done today?
Today I was editing my work to it’s full standard. It took me quite a while to chop & screw my work but after hearing my final outcome; it was worth it indeed. I also found some sound effects and a song to go with my radio advert.

2.  What difficulties/problems have I had?
I had problem adjusting the volume of certain parts of the voice over and also, I had trouble finding the right sound effects to match my radio advert. Also, I had trouble making certain voices a higher volume because they were too low. I also had difficulties with deciding how my main characters voices would sound like.

   3. How did I get over them?
I followed the guide on how to use reaper to help me and I asked for help from my fellow students

      4.  What Have I done well?
I used to right sound effects for my radio advert and I also blended them in my soundtrack. I also made the song fade at the end of my radio advert and lowered the pitch of my voice over to make my radio advert sound professional. I also made sure that the voices matched the character profiles and they sounded professional
