GAME
OF DEATH
PART A:
1.
The film trailer
is an action, crime & drama
2.
The star actors
that have been mentioned are Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
3.
The target
audience is for people who enjoy martial arts or actions films and people over
the age of 18 and 21. Also, people who
are fans of the Bruce Lee.
4.
I know Adults
would like it because in the radio trailer it said it was rated x which means
most explicit so they’re intended only for viewing by adults
5.
The tonality in
the voice over persuades the audience to watch it. Also, the use of description
e.g. “The ultimate Kung Fu experience” “see him fight to the death with 7ft
4inch colossus Kareem Abdul Jabbar” and the advertiser mentions star actors
names.
PART B:
1.
In the Game Of
Death radio trailer it says it’s the “Ultimate Kung-Fu experience” so you can
tell that the film has action. It
doesn’t say much about the narrative but it says “see him fight to the death…”
so it gives you a insight that there will be a lot of fighting in the story and
maybe the protagonist has to fight for survival. It says that the protagonists
become a legend and he lives on in “Game of Death”. Also, there’s info about the antagonist; he’s
a 7ft 4inch colossus. This depicts that he’s mighty and powerful.
2.
The screaming
sound effects are put in-between the voice over to make it dramatic and it
depicts that there’s fighting going on. The climatic music adds mood to the
trailer which draws in the audience to watch the film
3.
The voice over
puts expression into his voice and exaggerates his pauses to add mood and to
make the radio trailer more dramatic. Using this technique draws in the
audience to watch the film.
4.
I think the
trailer is effective: the voice over defines his voice to intensify the
trailer, the dramatic sound effects in the trailer gives you an insight about
what’s in stock, the description of the antagonist and the protagonists were
extended e.g. “the man, the star, the legend” “7ft 4 colossus” and the
description of the film was effective as well. E.g. “stupendous, all-action adventure” “the
ultimate Kung-Fu experience”
